About Dr. Yee

With his extensive background in internal medicine and pediatric care, Sau Yan Yee, MD, is an established and trusted practitioner. Dr. Yee and his wife are the founders of Yee Medicine and Pediatric Associates, which has locations in Wyckoff and Englewood, New Jersey.

Born in Hong Kong, Dr. Yee moved to Venezuela in South America at a young age where lived for almost five years. He grew up speaking Spanish, Cantonese, and English, and is still fluent in all three languages. Ultimately, Dr. Yee’s family relocated to the United States and he settled in New York City.

After graduating from Brooklyn Technical High School, Dr. Yee was accepted into The City College of New York’s Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education Program. This accelerated combined bachelor’s and medical degree program is highly competitive. Each year the school accepts only about 70 students of the New York City and surrounding New York towns. Accepted students are guaranteed a spot in one of the cooperating medical schools.

After completing his medical degree, Dr. Yee began his combined four-year residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the former St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Yee joined the academic faculty staff at St. Vincent’s teaching residents and students for about two years before going into private practice.

Throughout his career, Dr. Yee has spent significant time working in the emergency department setting, caring for patients at St. Mary’s Hospital (now known as CarePoint Health) in Hoboken. Dr. Yee has gained a set of skills that has made him a better physician. As the private practice grew in volume, Dr. Yee realized his passion was best dedicated to his own patients in the private practice. Despite this, Dr. Yee still works at present one night per week in the pediatric emergency department at Chilton Medical Center.

Patients of Dr. Yee commend his trustworthiness and willingness to spend time with them during appointments. He enjoys getting to know each patient and his or her family personally. As a result, it is common for Dr. Yee to be the medical provider for three, even four, generations of the same family within his offices.
